Part A: Preliminary & Definitions

1. Preamble

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the access and use of the digital platform bank-creditcard.info ("Website"), which is an official marketing property of HDFC BANK LIMITED ("Bank"). This platform facilitates the online application, tracking, and management of Credit Cards. By accessing this Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

"Card" refers to any Credit Card issued by HDFC BANK LIMITED. "Cardholder" means the individual to whom a Card has been issued. "Credit Limit" means the maximum amount the Cardholder is entitled to use.

3. Applicability

The Cardholder shall be deemed to have unconditionally agreed to and accepted these Terms by signing the Card application form electronically or physically, or by activating the Card digitally.

4. Amendments

The Bank reserves the right to alter, amend, or revise any policy, benefit, or feature of the Card at any time. Updates will be communicated via the Bank's official channels.

5. Eligibility Criteria

The Card is issued at the sole discretion of the Bank to Resident Indians and NRIs (subject to RBI guidelines) aged between 18 and 70 years, meeting the Bank's internal credit risk policies.

6. KYC Compliance

Issuance of the Card is strictly subject to the completion of Know Your Customer (KYC) norms as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Master Direction. Failure to provide valid documents may result in rejection of the application.

7. Credit Bureau Reporting (CIBIL)

The Applicant acknowledges that the Bank is a member of Credit Information Companies (CICs) like CIBIL, Experian, and Equifax. The Bank will report the Cardholder's data, including payment history and defaults, to these bureaus on a monthly basis.

Part B: Card Usage & Validity

10. Validity

The Card is valid only up to the last day of the month and year indicated on the face of the Card. Usage after expiry is illegal and subject to fraud checks.

11. Permissible Usage

The Card is valid for use in India and abroad (except Nepal and Bhutan) in foreign currency, subject to usage limits prescribed by the RBI under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999.

12. International Usage

For international transactions, the Cardholder must ensure compliance with the purpose of travel. Trading in Forex, lottery, or prohibited goods is strictly forbidden.

13. Merchant Transactions

The Bank is not responsible for any defect in goods or services supplied by merchants. Any dispute regarding goods must be resolved directly with the merchant.

14. Cash Advance

Cardholders can withdraw cash from ATMs displaying the VISA/MasterCard logo. A Cash Advance Fee and Finance Charges apply from the date of withdrawal until repayment.

15. Credit Limit Management

The Bank assigns a Credit Limit and Cash Limit. The Bank reserves the right to increase or reduce the limit based on periodic credit reviews without prior notice.

Part C: Financial Charges & Payments

20. Statement Generation

The Bank will send a monthly statement to the registered email/address indicating the Total Amount Due and Minimum Amount Due (MAD).

21. Payment Due Date

Payment must be credited to the Card account by the Payment Due Date. Non-payment triggers late fees and reporting to CIBIL as 'Overdue'.

22. Minimum Amount Due (MAD)

Paying only the MAD keeps the account regular but attracts interest (Finance Charges) on the remaining balance and new transactions.

23. Interest / Finance Charges

Interest is charged if the Total Amount Due is not paid in full. The rate varies from 1.99% to 3.5% per month (23.88% - 42% annualized) based on the card variant.

24. Interest-Free Period

Up to 50 days of interest-free period is applicable only if the previous month's balance was paid in full.

25. Late Payment Fees

Charges applicable if payment is not received by the due date. The fee structure depends on the total outstanding amount slab as per the MITC document.

26. Goods & Services Tax (GST)

All fees, interest, and charges are subject to GST at 18% (or as per current government regulations) mandated by the Government of India.

Part D: Security, PIN & OTP

31. PIN Confidentiality

The ATM PIN and Web PIN are strictly confidential. The Cardholder must not write the PIN on the Card or share it with anyone, including Bank staff.

32. 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Online transactions require 2FA (OTP). The Cardholder ensures that the registered mobile number is active to receive OTPs.

33. Lost/Stolen Card

In case of loss/theft, the Cardholder must immediately block the Card via this Portal, NetBanking, or PhoneBanking. The Cardholder is liable for transactions until the report is lodged.

34. Zero Liability Policy

If the Card is reported lost immediately, the Cardholder has zero liability for any fraudulent Point of Sale (POS) transactions post-reporting.

35. Phishing Warning

Warning: HDFC Bank never asks for PIN, CVV, or OTP via phone or email. The Cardholder agrees not to share credentials on suspicious links.

Part E: Digital Access & Data

40. Portal Access

Access to this Website is granted for applying, tracking, and managing card services. Unauthorized access attempts are punishable under the IT Act, 2000.

41. Data Privacy

Personal data collected via this portal is processed as per the Privacy Policy and stored in secured servers within India, compliant with RBI data localization norms.

42. Device Security

The Cardholder must ensure their device (Mobile/PC) has updated antivirus and is not jailbroken/rooted when accessing banking services.

Part F: Regulatory & Legal

46. RBI Guidelines

The Card is governed by the regulations issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Any violation of FEMA or RBI norms allows the Bank to cancel the Card.

47. Anti-Money Laundering (AML)

The Cardholder confirms that the Card will not be used for money laundering, terrorist financing, or purchasing prohibited items.

48. Disclosure to Third Parties

The Bank may disclose Cardholder info to debt collection agencies, regulatory bodies, or partners for recovery or legal purposes only when necessary.

49. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. All disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.

Part G: Grievance Redressal

56. Customer Care

For support, Cardholders can contact 24x7 PhoneBanking or use the "Contact Support" feature on this website.

57. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

If unsatisfied with the resolution, the Cardholder may escalate the issue to the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) listed on the official HDFC Bank website.

58. Banking Ombudsman

If the complaint is not resolved within 30 days, the Cardholder may approach the Banking Ombudsman appointed by the RBI.
